This warm and humid natural environment is a good condition for the growth and reproduction of various molds, which is very unfavorable for the collection of calligraphy and painting. Calligraphy and painting are all written or painted on paper or silk, but paper and silk are good "drinks" for moths. Especially in rainy days, when the temperature and humidity are appropriate, insects and fungi multiply quickly, calligraphy and painting will be damaged

The calligraphy and painting must be put away before the rainy season. Before collection, thoroughly ventilate, then tightly roll it up and put it in a sealed picture box. For some painting and calligraphy works that are not mounted, you can make a vacuum packaging bag with plastic zipper, roll up the painting and calligraphy works, put them in the bag, take them out after three or four months, and allocate them to place them out of direct sunlight. The cabinets and boxes for storing calligraphy and painting must have good sealing performance. A few pieces of camphor essence should be placed at the four corners of the box. Calligraphy and painting should be wrapped in kraft paper for collection. In the weather with high air humidity, do not open the box or cabinet, let alone open the calligraphy and painting. The newly mounted calligraphy and painting axle head should not be immediately rolled up for collection. It should be hung up first and then collected after the moisture is removed

If the paste is mounted, it will be rolled and hidden immediately. The paste is still wet, and the picture is full of spots in the future, which is difficult to remove. This is the result of the wet paste and mildew. Paintings and calligraphy that have not been mounted can be folded in dry weather and put into self-made plastic bags

The study should be ventilated frequently to reduce the temperature. In order to prevent pests from settling down and breeding, books should be moved frequently. Those who have a large collection of books should also be thoroughly cleaned up at the end of spring or autumn every year. One or two pieces of camphor essence should be put on each layer of the cabinet for storing books, which can play a role in pest control. To be on the safe side, you can also seal the library before the rainy season, and ventilate and dry it after the rainy season. And we should pay attention to that we should not only prevent the books from being affected by damp and mildew, but also prevent the paper from being discolored and crisp due to exposure to the sun
